Committee Roles
According to the club's constitution, the role of each committee position is as follows...


President

Preside as chair over committee meetings and General Meetings.
Attend meetings of the Clubs & Societies Council, vote in the interests of the club, and report outcomes to the committee.
Co-ordinate the activities of the committee.
Represent the club, and act as its spokesperson, to the Clubs & Societies Council, MSA, the University and other bodies, as appropriate.
Submit reports to committee meetings, as appropriate.
Submit an annual report to the AGM.

Vice President

Attend committee meetings and General Meetings.
Preside as chair over committee meetings and General Meetings in the absence of the President.
Assist the President in his/her duties.
Perform the duties of the President if that office is vacant.
Perform other duties, as the committee may resolve.

Treasurer

Attend committee meetings and General Meetings.
Keep the club's financial books in order, in accordance with the requirements of the Clubs & Societies Council.
Prepare a club budget, at least annually.
Collect and bank all income in the club's bank account.
Prepare the club's financial books for audit, semi-annually.
Submit a financial report to the AGM.
Liaise with the Clubs & Societies Council on any financial requirements.

Assistant Treasurer

Attend committee meetings and General Meetings;
Assist the Treasurer in her/his duties; and
Perform the duties of the Treasurer if that office is vacant.

Secretary

Attend committee meetings and General Meetings.
Prepare agendas and minutes, and serve notice as prescribed, for General Meetings and committee meetings.
Act as Returning Officer for club elections, as appropriate.
Ensure that an up-to-date membership register is maintained.
Regularly check the club's mail box and electronic mail account, supplied by the Clubs & Societies Council, for incoming correspondence.
Ensure that inwards and outwards correspondence for the club is handled correctly and in a timely manner.
Submit an annual report to the AGM.

Media Manager

Attend committee meetings and General Meetings;
Select anime to be screened at events, in consultation with the rest of the committee;
Keep up to date with new anime series and ensure their exposure to members in weekly screenings; and
Oversee the use of audio-visual equipment during events.

Social Representative

Attend committee meetings and General Meetings;
Oversee the use of social media;
Oversee the dispatch of weekly digital newsletters.

Sponsorship Officer

Attend committee meetings and General Meetings;
Liaise with current sponsors;
Promote sponsors through events and social media; and
Seek potential future sponsors.

Creative Director

Attend committee meetings and General Meetings;
Create promotional images for the club;
Provide images to be used in social media and weekly digital newsletters; and
Maintain and update the club website.
